Westland Seaking Mk.50 N16-918 RAN Avalon 2005
The RAN has had 12 Sea Kings on force. They were initially taken on strength from 1975, so they have given over 30 years of service! I don’t know if a replacement is on the cards at the moment. They are now land-based as they are too big to operate effectively from any current RAN ships. I am guessing the Sea Sprites will be taking over some of their roles, particularly sub hunting. The Sea Kings are used mainly for short-range patrol and utility work.
