During the Second World War, Australia took delivery of a Sherman tank for evaluation. It subsequently went through many tests but the type was not adopted. Why I can't say. That Sherman is now on display at RAAC Tak Museum at Puckapunyal. I don't know much about Shermans, but a couple of details I noticed are the cast hull front, early suspansion and pressed metal road wheels. It's also obviously been used for a spot of small-arms target practice!
