The new kid on the block for ADF rotary-wing assets, the MRH-90 has begun entering service. A shared asset between the Royal Australian Navy and the Australian Army, at least some of the airframes bear both ARMY and NAVY legends on the tailboom, surely a first for any military aircraft! The ground crew asured me that there were no physical differences betwen the choppers allocated to either service and, in fact, they would be rotated in and out of each service as service schedules dictate. I have heard from another source that there is some difference in the avionics and threat-detection suite, and it is possible that these things are demountable if not needed. As always, check you references if you are building a model!!
