DASSAULT MIRAGE IIIS WALKAROUND

Dassault Mirage IIIS J-2335

Seen at the Swiss Air Force Museum in late 2015 was this Mirage. The canards were unique to the Swiss Mirages and were retrofitted in the 1980s. Perhaps as a result of the success of the Israeli Kfir? In fact, the Swiss-built IIIS aircraft were quite different to the French machines. They were more robust and included lifting points so they could be lifted around inside bomb-proof caverns. The J designation is applied to fighter variants. An S is applied to strike variants.
