“Jade 07” Cessna O-2A c/n 67-21368
“368” was assigned to the USAF 19th Tactical Air Support Squadron, 504th Tactical Air Support Group, in Vietnam from 1968 to 1972. It was based at Vung Tau, and flew many missions from the 1st Australian Task Force base camp airstrip at Nui Dat: Luscombe Field.
One Australian Forward Air Control pilot was assigned to the squadron at all times. The call sign reserved for them was “Jade 07”.
The aircraft depicted here was one of the regular mounts of the Australian pilots.
67-21368 is now preserved at the Hurlburt Field FAC memorial in Florida, USA.
